Friday 1st September – walks **** Felixstowe Ferry and Landguard Nature
Reserve – Sunny periods.
Walk 1.
I went down to Felixstowe Ferry at 9.30 to take some pics to send to the
weather which proved a waste of time as none were used:( Parked behind the
Martello Tower and walked to the River Deben to get some shoots of the dark
moody sky’s and spotted a seal pup on the beach resting, it looked in
good condition so took its picture and moved away. I quick trip around the
boat yard before heading back to the van and the seal was still on the
beach.
Walk 2.
The weather improved so I did my exercises in the back garden after
breakfast, then lunch at our new patio furniture and as we had to do a big
shop at Lidl we drove to The Manor for a walk around Landguard Nature
Reserve with the sun now out and pretty hot! We head through the big area
of blackberry bushes first which are absolutely full of berries and we must
take a tube down to get some soon! We amble along, I make to small detour
to the view point as a container ship berths and the ferry heads in. I meet
up with Mag near the little wooden pier after she had a chat with one of
our son’s old school teachers watching hundreds of starlings splashing
about in a puddle:) Back across the reserve, along the beach and back to
the van and off to Lidl where we have never spent so much on food but we
did get 10% off, got to love Lidl!
